Q: What’s new in QuickDesk?

Perfectly Clear QuickDesk has gained a LOT of new features and capabilities since it’s original release.  The major “Version 3” upgrade added the ‘6-up’ view and many workflow options, as well as new image corrections.  Here’s a complete list:

Version 3.0

  1. Beautiful new interface
  2. New image correction tools:
    1. Preprocessing section for Input Looks and “Image Ambulance” for manual exposure corrections
    2. “Face Aware” exposure for more accurate auto-exposure corrections in portraits and group photos
    3. Black Point tool to deepen blacks
    4. New Color Vibrancy tool to complement our previous “Vibrancy” control (now renamed to Color Restoration)
    5. Sky and Foliage enhancements
  3. Existing tools have been improved:
    1. Added strength sliders to Light Diffusion and Vibrancy for better control
    2. Better ‘color pickers’ for Skin Tone and Blush adjustments
  4. Manually identify faces that are not detected automatically
  5. One-click to zoom to individual faces
  6. Modify facial regions to provide the best corrections
  7. Histogram
  8. Much improved preset management

Version 3.5

  1. RAW file support in the ‘Stand-alone’ products
  2. Visual Presets and LOOKs panels
  3. Filmstrip view in ‘Stand-alone’ products and Lightroom plug-in
  4. Undo / Redo support
  5. Finishing Tools to allow final adjustments to your images
  6. Graduated Filters to adjust portions of the image

Version 3.6

  1. Faster than ever! Major re-write of our core engine speeds up processes so you can spend even less time editing
  2. New & improved sharpening – not only faster, but stronger and smarter than ever!
  3. New Integration with ROES Workflow.  For those using ROES, this is a significant update. Read more here.
  4. Supports additional RAW file formats
  5. Major Workflow Improvements:
    1. Edit within your existing user preset, and easier flow when editing preset description
    2. Update to the Grad Group checkbox displays
    3. Multiple image selection using “open with” command
    4. Apply negative exposure (to darken a photo) directly from your quick correct panel

Version 3.6.1

  1. Added “36Pix” integration.  Read more here.
  2. Several small image correction improvements, including better handling of very low dynamic range images, very bright, low contrast images, and high-key images with Color Restore set to 0.

Version 3.6.2

  1. Fixed OSX support for ‘Mojave’ (10.14) when processing 16-bit TIF files

Version 3.6.3

  1. Added support for ‘Edit Original in Photoshop’
