Backwards compatibility for SDK V10.5 and above

We’re excited to announce SDK V10.5! If you’re a customer with a previous version of the SDK, you’ll need to know about backwards compatibility and what your options are to take advantage of our newest technology.

Updates in this SDK include but are not limited to:

  • A new version of AI Skin Tone Accuracy in all AI Preset Groups, including Universal, Pro, and School & Sports
  • Updated, optimized presets in the Universal and Pro AI Preset Models
  • A new AI Preset Group for School and Sports, also utilizing our newest version of AI Skin Tone Accuracy detection and correction
  • The addition of AI White Balance in “Portraits – Dark Backgrounds” AI Preset
  • Improved Auto Crop and the ability to implement through the SDK

Because there are so many new features and technologies in this SDK, you are required to update before you use them. Here’s what you need to know:

Presets

  • Out-of-the-box presets and presets created with these new features in the newest version of Workbench (V4.6 and above) will not work in SDKs that have not been updated to V10.5 and above. You must update to the latest (V10.5 and above) to use any presets exported from Workbench V4.6 and above.
  • Presets using the previous version of AI Skin Tone Accuracy can still be viewed in Workbench, but they can’t be edited. If you update Workbench but want to edit presets with the old tech, you will need to re-download the previous version of Workbench.   • If you have custom presets you would like to use with the new technology features and updates, we can assist you in updating them. You can contact your account representative or reach out through our Contact Us form to get this process started.
  • If you update to SDK V10.5 and above, your previous presets will still work. However, we highly recommend updating your AI Preset Models when you update the SDK to ensure you’re getting the best of our technology.

For customers that haven’t updated to SDK V10 or above

These new features require using AI in Perfectly Clear. Here’s what you need to know if you are on an SDK with no AI:

  • Customers with SDKs that pre-date the addition of AI can only use single presets with no AI Preset Selection and none of the new features outlined in this FAQ.
  • The AI comes with a small upcharge to cover our additional costs. Contact your account representative or reach out through our Contact Us form to discuss pricing, testing, and implementation.
  • SDK V10.5 is the best technology we have to offer, and we highly recommend letting us help you update to the latest and greatest!
